We need our state legislators to vote NO on HB 455 – it will only make our affordable housing crisis worse.

We all agree that Delaware needs more affordable housing – so renters and homeowners can all afford to live here.

That's why we need the state legislature keep investing in building more affordable housing. In addition, we need more innovative approaches to increasing housing availability, like incentivizing new development, streamlining permitting, and expanding workforce housing.

On top of those investments, we need more innovative approaches to increasing housing availability, like incentivizing new housing development, streamlining permitting, expanding workforce housing programs.
But HB 455 will add more restrictions, not more housing.
HB 455 would impose new restrictions and regulations in the name of rent control. These restrictions could result in less new housing construction, hurting the supply of quality housing. This will reduce choice and mobility for Delaware families. On top of hurting new housing construction, the restrictions will also discourage maintenance on existing rental properties. What’s worse, these restrictions can shift the property tax burden even more to existing homeowners – making their property taxes go up.
Tell your state legislator that you oppose legislation that will hurt the availability of affordable housing!
