The misguided legislation the State House is considering would impose new restrictions and regulations in the name of rent control. These restrictions could result in less new housing construction, hurting the supply of quality housing. This will reduce choice and mobility for Delaware families.
On top of hurting new housing construction, the restrictions will also discourage maintenance on existing rental properties. What’s worse, these restrictions can shift the property tax burden even more to existing homeowners – making their property taxes go up.
